About my Vineyard –

Girl On The Hill is a boutique vineyard developed in 2001 and located on Mt Vaca of the Blue Ridge Mountains making our vineyard the highest elevation in Solano County at 2620 feet.  This elevation, our eastern exposure and moderate temperatures from neighboring Napa County creates an extremely unique micro climate.  We personally oversee all vineyard management practices and we have been certified by Fish Friendly Farming®. This certification assures our wines are produced by protecting and restoring the environment and by sustaining the beauty and natural habitats of California.

You will enjoy a 100% estate grown Zinfandel from a certified clone grafted onto an original California root stock from the Frank Evangelho vineyard in Contra Costa County. This root stock dates back to approximately 1889 making the vines perfectly suited for our hilly and dry environment. The unique combination of location and history is one that simply can not be duplicated!  Additionally, we dropped the fruit for the first four years to focus on vine and root structure.  Our first year production was 2006 with only one cluster per cane allowed to ripen which succeeded in achieving a quality Zinfandel wine; not quantity.  This practice of ripening only one cluster per cane was continued through both the 2007 and 2008 production years.
